Spring Cleaning - Beauty Products

Hey guys!  So spring started 9 days ago, which means it's time for spring cleaning!  Now I could write about what you should do for the rest of your house, but what about your beauty products?  They have a shelf life and you should get rid of all that bacteria.

Mascara:
You should change this every 2-3 months.  So if you buy expensive mascara, you better use it fast!

Foundation:
Water-based foundations last 6-12 months after the seal is broken.  To make it last longer keep it out of moist and heated areas.

Concealer:
Powder and stick concealers can last up to 2 years.  Liquids can last up to 1 year.

Face Powder:
Face powders can last up to 2 years.

Blush:
Powder blush has the same rule as face powder, but cream blushes last for about a year.  Clean your blush brush regularly and store your blush in a dark, dry place to prolong it's life.

Eye Shadow:
Lasts around 3 months.  Obviously cream based eye shadows grow bacteria quicker, so keep an eye on them.

Eyeliner:
Any kind of eyeliner you have should be replaced around 3 months.

Lipstick and Lipgloss:
They can last around a year.  Replace if you've been recently sick though.

Brushes:
If you clean them after use and at least biweekly with a deep brush conditioner your brushes will last you years.

I got these tips here.  I hope you enjoy them, and use these tips!

xxoo,
Claire.

I totally "over-use" my beauty products. :( I don't go through them fast enough to replace them at this rate - I still have gorgeous blush I can't bear to part with from 3 years ago. :P However, I wash my brushes every time I use them, so I like to think I'm avoiding as much built-up bacteria as possible...
