How I Get Ready for a Party

Hey guys!  When I have a long day of making myself look good for a party,  I have a lot of work to look the best I can.  So here's how I do it.

When I wake up I grab a bottle of water and do a 30-minute work out.  It helps with bloat, after all you want to fit into that dress later, right?  Then I eat a yogurt with a handful of Kashi Go-Lean cereal.  Both of those foods help with bloat too.

Then I cleanse my face.  After my face is cleansed, I put on a mask.  I let it sit the required amount of time then wash it off.  I tone and moisturize my face as usual after that.

After my face is clean I do my nails.  Clip, file, buff, paint, let dry is the process I tend to go with for both my hands and feet.  Then I clean around the nails as best as I can.

After the nails are done, I shower.  Showering after you paint your nails can help get rid of all the polish on your skin if you're a messy painter like me.  In the shower I wear a shower cap if my hair isn't too greasy, otherwise I wash it with shampoo and instead of using conditioner I put on a hair mask for 10-15  minutes.  While the hair mask is sitting there I shave and wash my body.

After the shower I put lotion on.  I let it sit for awhile before putting on a pair of jeans and shirt.

Finally I get to the point where I do my hair.  This is my second favorite part of getting ready.  It usually takes me up to an hour to do my hair, so I have to make time for it.

After my hair is finished, I do my make up.  I like to put on foundation for parties, otherwise I skip it since my skin doesn't have many problems.  Then I do my eyes, cheeks, and lips.  Like any smart person, I only draw attention to one of the features.  Also I don't like to do the matchy-matchy thing with the outfit I'm wearing.  I usually compliment it with a soft neutral smokey eye (taupe eyeshadow on the lids and some black eyeliner)  and a soft pink lip.

After all of that is done, I spray some perfume and get into my dress and accessories.  As you can see it takes forever for me to get ready for a party, but it is definitely worth it.

What's your favorite part of getting ready for parties?

xxoo,
Claire.

Claire,
You are a lucky woman to have enough time to spend the day getting ready for a party! Do you have an abbreviated version for those days when you have about an hour to get ready?
My life is too overcrowded to have much more time than that. :)
Cheers,
Laura
