OOTD: Springtime Beauty

OOTD Spring :)

OOTD Spring :) by vanityvictim

Hey guys!  So I was doing my daily advertising, checking out other people, finding things to follow and I came across this girl advertising her polyvore.  I used to go on polyvore ALL the time!  Then I kind of just stopped.  I forgot how much fun it was!  Also I'm a little rusty at making sets, but here is one I made today.  A spring OOTD.

So this is a cute daytime floral dress.  I paired a floppy straw hat, brown gladiator sandals, feather earrings, light brown glamorous sunglasses, a light pink and gold ring, a light pink lipstick, and a choice of a pink or blue crossbody bag.  It's all very springy and girly.  Don't you just love it?!

Leave your polyvore link down below and I'll be sure to follow you!

Fealing Healthy: Small Meals

Hey guys!  So I had to switch to a new diet recently.  It's not much of a diet though, it's more about portions and timing.  I've had issues with low blood sugar lately, so we decided it would be better for me to have small meals throughout the day instead of 3 bigger meals.  You don't have to deal with low blood sugar to do this though, in fact it's better than eating 3 bigger meals throughout the day.

Tips:
  • Not all meals should be the same amount of calories.  You can have 200, 150, 300, 200, 350 calories for each of the small meals. (Just an example)
  • You should choose a time to eat each meal.  I try to have mine 3 hours apart.
  • Try to keep everything balanced.
  • Don't overdo the portions.
  • Choose healthy foods.
  • Plan ahead! This is probably my most important tip.  If you don't plan ahead you're more prone to eat more.
Examples:
Meal 1: 2 large eggs, scrambled (140 calories)
Meal 2: A medium apple (60 calories) with peanut butter (250 calories) and a cup of blueberries (80)
Meal 3: Wrap sandwich with turkey and cabbage (170 calories)
              Cheese stick (80 calories)
Meal 4: 1 serving of pretzels (100 calories)
Meal 5: Cucumber with ranch dressing (80 calories together) and 1 serving of chicken (180 calories)

Total calories: 1180

That's about the right amount of calories for someone looking to lose weight.  You also had a completely healthy day with little to none processed food.

Spring Cleaning - Beauty Products

Hey guys!  So spring started 9 days ago, which means it's time for spring cleaning!  Now I could write about what you should do for the rest of your house, but what about your beauty products?  They have a shelf life and you should get rid of all that bacteria.

Mascara:
You should change this every 2-3 months.  So if you buy expensive mascara, you better use it fast!

Foundation:
Water-based foundations last 6-12 months after the seal is broken.  To make it last longer keep it out of moist and heated areas.

Concealer:
Powder and stick concealers can last up to 2 years.  Liquids can last up to 1 year.

Face Powder:
Face powders can last up to 2 years.

Blush:
Powder blush has the same rule as face powder, but cream blushes last for about a year.  Clean your blush brush regularly and store your blush in a dark, dry place to prolong it's life.

Eye Shadow:
Lasts around 3 months.  Obviously cream based eye shadows grow bacteria quicker, so keep an eye on them.

Eyeliner:
Any kind of eyeliner you have should be replaced around 3 months.

Lipstick and Lipgloss:
They can last around a year.  Replace if you've been recently sick though.

Brushes:
If you clean them after use and at least biweekly with a deep brush conditioner your brushes will last you years.

I got these tips here.  I hope you enjoy them, and use these tips!

Homemade: St. Patrick's Day Avacado Face Mask

Since today is St.Patrick's Day, you're probably getting ready to party!  And before you do that, you want to look your best, right?  So here's an avacado face mask to help you with your dry skin.

Avacado Face Mask:

Makes: 1 application
Prep Time: Less than 5 minutes
Shelf Life: Keep refrigerated

Ingredients:
  • 1/2 an avacado, mashed
  • 3-4 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1-2 teaspoons lemon juice

How to make it:
  • Slice and pit avacado.
  • Sprinkle some lemon juice over the half you won't use.  You can save it in the fridge for up to a day.
  • Mash the half for the mask and add the mayonnaise. Stir both ingredients in a bowl until they make a smooth combination.
  • Add the lemon juice and stir.
  • If you have normal-oily skin you can add more lemon juice.  About a teaspoon more.
How to use it:
  • Spread evenly on a clean, damp face.
  • Leave on for 10-15 minutes.
  • Rinse well with warm water.
  • Apply toner and moisturizer as usual.
I hope you guys have a great St. Patrick's Day and let me know if you use this!

Outfit of the Day: St. Patrick's Day

I know I haven't done an OOTD in a LOOOOONGGGGGG time, but I thought it'd be nice to do one for today!

My make up is just a green smokey eye with a nude lip gloss (sugar pie by NYX).  I'm wearing a green bomber jacket from Forever21, a black/silver tank top from Forever21, black shorts from Old Navy, my camel colored wedges from a local store, the black necklace is from Charlotte Russe, and I have pyramid shaped black earrings from Charlotte Russe also.

This is obviously for St.Patrick's day. It's also warm out around here, hence the shorts.  This is an everyday outfit for me, but it could also be amazing for a casual night time place.  And it could be an amazing outfit any time.  When it get's really hot, you can remove the jacket and you still have an awesome outfit!

Happy St.Patrick's Day!

Feeling Healthy: Tone Your Derriere!

Well, this week I don't have a celebrity outfit idea.  So I decided to give you guys some work out ideas! Especially since it's getting really warm here and everyone has started to break out their shorts.  So it's probably a good idea to get toned and in shape!

Bridges - They work your hamstrings, glutes, and quads.  Do 2 sets and 15 reps.
Lateral Lunges - They work your quads, glutes, and inner thighs.  Do 2 sets and 15 reps.
Skater Squats - They work your quads, glutes, hips, and outer thighs.  Do 2 sets and 15 reps.
Step-Ups - The work your quads, glutes, and calves.  Do 2 sets and 15 reps.

All of that should take about 15 minutes and it's a beginner work out! If you feel like challenging yourself, add another set!  Or combine it with another routine.  Oh and if you're wondering how to do those exercises, click their name and you'll be directed to a website that shows you exactly how to do them.

So I will catch up on all my important Sweet Sixteen notes (hopefully tomorrow, if not this weekend!).  I really want to share all of it with you guys!  Although I am moving on, so this weeks theme is St. Patrick's Day.  What does The Script have to do with this? Well, they are an Irish band, and St. Patrick's Day is widely associated with Ireland.  Anyways these are my favorite songs from them in no specific order.

Tonight Is the Night...!

Hey guys!  I'll catch up on all my posts soon, I really want to write what I had planned.

Tonight is my Sweet Sixteen!  I'm super excited. :) I still have to figure out how I'm going to do my hair and make up... I have enough time to figure it out though.  Right now I'm actually waiting for my nails to dry:) Then I'm going to take a bath with a Mrs.Whippy Lush bath bomb! I can't wait for that... :) Also I'm filming a lot of today, so I'll be putting together a video of my Sweet Sixteen experiences!

I'm so excited!

Sweet, Sweet Sixteen

So my Sweet Sixteen is in 5 days! I absolutely cannot wait. :)

One thing you need at a party is food and drinks.  Without it, people aren't very happy.  So when you plan a party figure out your menu.  If you have light food, mention it on the invitation.  And try to make sure everything is cohesive.

My Menu:

I'm going to have a chocolate fountain with milk chocolate running through it.  The dipping options are strawberries, pretzel sticks, and pound cake cubes.  I'm going to have cheese and crackers available.  And instead of having a traditional cake, I'm having vanilla and raspberry macarons.  The drink option is this mixture my mom does that consists of concentrated white grape juice and 7-up.  It's a lot like sparkling cider.

You also need to think about food presentation and utensils, etc. All the foods will be on platters, except for the chocolate fountain.  Then there will be tooth picks for the dipping.  Also we ordered tiny black square plates, printed black and white napkins, and we will have clear plastic cups.

After you have your menu planned, figure out when you will pick up the food unless you have a caterer do it for you.

This Week's Theme...

Hey guys!

I've figured out a new schedule for blogging.  I looked into editorial calendars, and I made up some of my own and filled them out.  So this month is filled with blog post ideas!

I also decided to do weekly themes.  This week?  All about birthdays!  Considering my birthday is on the 8th and my party is on the 10th.

If you have theme ideas, feel free to suggest them. :)

What's Going On...

Yesterday was my fashion show!  It was exciting and nerve-wracking and great all at the same time!  I'm going to see if I can post the video on my blog and channel.  Other than that here's what's going on:

I'm actually going to blog.  Shocking, I know.  I now have way less to do and I'm working on organizing everything for the blog now.  I'm going to create and editorial calendar.  So starting tomorrow most likely I will be blogging full time again.  And the schedule may change.

Thank you to everyone who is still following me!  I appreciate it. :)
